Get to Know Us
A Message from our Founder –
I get it.
I get it because I lived it. And it was not fun. It was hell.
But I survived it. I beat it. I won.
Most importantly, I understand HOW I did, and why it’s so important to help other people do the exact same thing for themselves.
There’s an entire world out there of people and places that exist in the drug and alcohol abuse space that believe they are doing really good work to help people get better. And the truth is, some of them actually do. And most of them try and fail. Some fail immediately; some fail when people are better for a while and ultimately fall back into old habits. And some fail because people never get better at all. But unfortunately, most fail.
When someone needs help, whether they decided they do, or the people that care about them most are imploring them to seek some, there’s a panic that sets in. And the searches begin – what kind of help? Where do I go? When do I go? What is it going to cost? Who is REALLY GOOD and who is not? HOW SOON CAN I FIX THIS?!
And amid that panic, and the furious website searches and phone calls, people make a decision. Maybe it’s based on the website that speaks to them most. Maybe it’s the first one that popped up on Google. Maybe it’s the place that’s closest to them, or the farthest away. Maybe it’s a place that’s recommended by a friend or therapist. It’s always based on something, and it’s highly unlikely the decision is based on personal experience. Listen, you don’t gain experience in this sort of thing willingly, and very few have earned that experience. There’s only one way to truly know this field from the inside is to live it. And I have.
Lucky for me, and you, that’s not the only experience that I have. I’ve bult and owned a business for 20 years, and have worked in investment management and financial services for more than 30 years. I know how businesses run, but most importantly, I know people. I understand how people work, what’s important to them, why they do the things that they do, and why they make the decisions that they make. And that’s why I’ve been successful – not because of the college and graduate degrees, not because I discovered some “secret formula”, and not because I’m smarter than anyone, but because I understand people. And when you understand people, and they know that you “get them”, that’s when you can truly help.
I started Hudson Valley Treatment Partners because people don’t know where to start. Most engage in that furious search I talked about earlier – and when you make a decision in a panic, without all the information you need, the likelihood of making a good one is very slim. People just want help – and they want it now. But they don’t know where to start. So I built a place for people to start.
We guide families through all of the hoops and hurdles of getting the help that they need, and help them make informed decisions about what to do now, what to do next, and what to do later on. We use our experience and understanding of people to guide them in making the best possible decisions, with the highest likelihood of success. We leverage our extensive network of friends, colleagues, and personal connections to make sure our clients get the right help.
We can do that for you and your family, and I hope you give us the chance to. You deserve to have a life free of drugs and alcohol, and all of the great things that you’ll get to experience on the other side of it. I’ve been there – and I know. Let us help.

All my best,
